We feel compelled to issue a statement about the partially accurate but mostly false news being published in the media. These reports are often created without proper investigation, by quoting other news outlets and adding misinformation.
Firstly, let us briefly clarify the structure of plastic surgery operations in Turkey. There are two types of services in this field:
- Surgeries performed by the full-time plastic surgeons employed by hospitals and clinics.
- Surgeries conducted by private-practice plastic surgeons who rent operating rooms from hospitals.
The BBL operation at Clinicexpert that tragically resulted in a death was not performed by one of our employed plastic surgeons. The operation was carried out by a plastic surgeon who used our operating room rental services.
For this reason, Clinicexpert cannot be held responsible for the incident.
For the past 14 years, Clinicexpert has provided operating room services to both its own doctors and hundreds of plastic surgeons. Holding the clinic and all its doctors accountable and tarnishing their reputation due to one tragic incident seems unfair, don’t you think?
Another topic mentioned in the news is the alleged organ theft due to missing organs. The reports claim that parts of the brain, heart, and intestines were missing.
After the unfortunate incident, the body was sent to Turkey’s official institution, the Council of Forensic Medicine, to determine the cause of death. During autopsies, it is standard procedure to take samples from some organs for examination.
Brain transplantation is not currently possible anywhere in the world.
Heart transplantation requires the entire heart, not parts of it.
Thus, the claim of organ theft is entirely baseless.
The incidents and the reasons mentioned above clearly show that the news reports in question are speculative, lack accurate information, and include fabricated elements to sensationalize the story.
Clinicexpert cannot be held accountable for the mistake of a doctor who is not employed within our organization.
